Dog Tunnel

Part of what made this tunnel particularily cool was how it just sort of WENT underground, into the peninsula. There was a rush of air from inside, and darkness. It was easy to imagine it going from one end of the pacific to the other, or into the center of the earth. I didn't want to leave. Plus, above the tunnel someone had lovingly put tiles reading "Dog Tunnel" like their dog used to play there. Long after we are gone, our rats and sewers will remain, interlaced systems which last for a hundred thousand years, colored images on the walls....
